My son wants a fit band to track his steps. Bought this cheap one for him. The basic function is okay. It works good as a pedometer. My son doesn't use other functions much. I like when pressing and holding the touch area for a few seconds, it changes to a different skin. But only two skins are available.Here are the things I don't like:1. After open box, I charged for three hours, but the band didn't turn on automatically. After doing a lot online research, finally figured it out: you need to make sure the three tiny legs on the charger are perfectly inserted in place.2. I had trouble to sync with the app. Maybe I have too many Bluetooth devices around. The manual doesn't say what device name this band would appear on the app. Took me quite some time to find the correct name and connect it to the app. A few times I had to disconnect and reconnect to sync the band and noticed the device name changed!3. The touch screen is not a real touch screen. You can only tap an area at bottom of the screen to flip screens. I never figured out how to open the "More" screen :(4. Battery life is too short. It went out about every three days when my son was using it. Not sure if he's constantly playing with it. When he leaves the band on the table, it lasts more than a week.5. It doesn't record steps if I don't sync to the app. My son forgot to sync it for a few days and the app showed no steps on those days after sync. My Mi band remembers the steps as long as it's on.For this price, I don't expect a lot of nice functions. But my Mi band 4, which doesn't cost much more than this one, works so much better.I have an iPhone 8 and I’m running iOS 13 the time if this review.I think the value for this band is good for many of the basic functions and it will do a generally good job.I think the battery runs out faster than a monotone display. I think the button on the band is very wonky and I don’t know if that’s just my band.The find phone function only rings the phone once when you press the button but if your phone is on vibrate, it will vibrate instead of changing the tone to ring.It doesn’t continuously measure the heart rate, o2, and blood pressure and you have to manually select the option and wait for it to come up with the readings. Annoying but nit a deal breaker.For me the lift up the awake didn’t always work smoothly.The camera function was nifty.iMessage does not work for me on the wearfit app, which is a huge problem for me. I like this function so that I’m not glued to my phone. It will send messages from Facebook and WhatsApp and line...the display for the text is a bit ugly. Phone calls go through on the bit.The app is easy enough to use and to pair the bit.Overall, I am a long time Alta hr user and I love all the functions that this bit offers. The value is good and I can live with all of its quarks save for the fact that I can’t get iMessages. I did spend a lot of time trying to see if I put the settings wrong.
